Student FAITH is a strategy to reach the students of Garner and beyond for Christ - a lifetime process by which followers of Christ learn to share their faith with others.
Student FAITH teaches a simple but effective gospel presentation, based on the acrostic “FAITH,” while providing the structure for Sunday School classes to care for their members and visitors. It provides a way to determine and meet the spiritual, physical and emotional needs of teenagers God has entrusted to us as a church and specifically as a Student Ministry. Our goal is to have at least one active team from each student Sunday school class.
Our next class begins on Sunday August 20, 2006 at 5:00 PM! Contact Joe Sinclair to sign up! email: joesinclair@arbc-garner.org or call at 919.779.0434 ext 228 |
Purpose of Student FAITH
Student FAITH is an evangelism training system linked directly to the Sunday School. By incorporating Student FAITH into our church, we are developing multiple opportunities and incentives to strengthen our ongoing Bible teaching and reaching ministries through the Sunday School. The two primary goals of Student FAITH are:
1 -To equip students and adult leaders to share the gospel message of Jesus Christ. 2 -To equip students and adult leaders to minister effectively to the needs teenagers in our church and community.
Student FAITH calls for a high level of commitment from students and leaders and it is based on a high degree of accountability. It also offers students the opportunity to be directly involved in proclaiming the good news of salvation and seeing the Holy Spirit at work convicting and changing lives. |

Philosophy of Student FAITH
You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others. -2 Timothy 2:1-2
This simple passage is the key to understanding the strategy and success of Student FAITH. Your job is to be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. You are to teach others so they can teach still more people. Student FAITH is an intentional multiplying approach of evangelism and ministry training.
Student FAITH is not a program, but a strategy for growing Great Commission Christians. Great Commission Christians are those Christians who desire to share the gospel with the unsaved and who grow in their understanding that God is at work in the lives of believers and nonbelievers. Great Commission Christians want to be servants where God is at work.
Great Commission Christians are not made overnight. The process takes time. A student can easily learn the gospel presentation that is part of Student FAITH, but more is involved in this process. Student FAITH is built around important ingredients designed to help teenagers investigate, understand, apply, and pass on the gospel message.
Student FAITH does not require students to start off knowing everything - only that God will cause them to grow in grace as they practice those things which Scripture teaches.
Each participant is part of a three person team, with at least one male, one female, and one adult on each team. Each team leader has already completed at least one semester of Student FAITH. Teams are together during the team time each week for encouragement and preparation for the visitation time. Team leaders are responsible for taking the lead during each of the visits. Visits are made to Sunday School Class members, visitors, and to prospects for our Student Ministry and Church. |
