Welcome to Aversboro Road Baptist Church , a place where all kinds of people come together for a common journey - a journey that focuses on making disciples, maturing believers and multiplying ministries. From the beginning of our journey we have intentionally designed a church model that empowers and maximizes the involvement of lay people to fulfill the Great Commission. Our mission is clear: "to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ and to minister to the needs of the church, the community and the world through the leadership of the Holy Spirit."
We understand that to be a healthy church that we have to equally balance the five biblical functions of worship, fellowship, discipleship, ministry and evangelism. Our church is committed to leading our community and church family in expressing our love to God in relational and experiential multi-sensory worship. We are attempting to strengthen the fellowship of our church by connecting and relating to God and one another through small group participation. We are dedicated to equipping and training our people to be more like Christ in our thoughts, feelings and actions. We are trying to demonstrate the love of God by meeting people's needs and offering healing for their hurts. This journey all begins for an individual when they hear and respond to the good news of Jesus Christ. No matter where you are in your own journey with Jesus Christ, even if one has not yet begun for you, there are people and programs here to help you along the way.
We are a church that seeks to engage the whole person in the exciting process of merging faith and everyday living. We strongly encourage everyone regularly involved here to make it a priority to participate in Sunday worship, to belong to a small group for spiritual encouragement and to serve often in some form of Christian ministry.
Whether you need to ask some questions, or find encouragement, discipleship and teaching, or someone just to walk alongside you, this is a community where you will be challenged and helped to know and to follow God more deeply and fully.
