Project List

1) Dental Bus – Glen Stuart

Dentist – Hygienist – Dental Assistants – Registration – Food preparation. This bus will be parked in the south parking lot.

2) Construction – Jim Reynolds

There will be 10 to 15 different projects going on that day. See Jim Reynolds to volunteer as a project leader or group member. If you have a project you would like to do, bring it to Jim’s attention. If not, he will help you find a project.

3) Life Line – Jim Funck

This is a for profit company that comes in and conducts medical tests for a cost. We only provide a space for them to set up and conduct their tests.

4) Mammogram Bus – Amber Faulk

The bus is provided by Rex Hospital. This is for ladies 35 plus in age with no previous history of breast cancer and not have had a screening in the last 12 months. Cost is based on insurance co-pay. If a person cannot pay there are scholarships available through the hospital. All work is ahead of the day in dealing with registration. This bud will be parked in the south parking lot.

5) Middle School Project – Glynn Ezzell

This project will be manned by the Middle school students (Grades 6-8) of our church

6) Senior High Project – Billy Forster

This project will be manned by the Senior high school students (Grades 9-12) of our church

7) House of Hope / Christian Life Home – Debbie Forster

Debbie has been working this project all summer for these non-profit organizations that help teenage girls in need. There will be yard work to be done as well as some other repair projects on that Saturday. Check with Debbie for a more complete definition of this project. It is hoped that this will become an ongoing ministry of our church.

 8) Food Drive – Teresa Ball

Teresa will be working with the RA’s and GA’s of our church to organize a food drive for the Garner Area Ministries organization.

 9) Nursing Homes – Doug Pedigo

This will primarily be a music ministry for several nursing homes in our area.

 10) Homeless Ministry – Leadership Undefined

As we have done in the past we want to work with Alice McGee in ministering to the homeless that come to Moore Square on Saturday morning for food and other handout items. We typically assemble health and hygiene kits as well as provide some underwear and socks.

11) Special Needs Children’s Fair – Debbie Seagrove

This is a community outreach event for our Special Needs Ministry. It is also to provide a fun activity for families with special needs children. This fair will be held in our north parking lot.

12) Emergency Personnel Luncheon – Gwen Roberson

This group will deliver lunches to the various fire, police and ambulance stations area our area. The lunches will be fixed by another group. This group will need to see that “Notes of Encouragement” are included with each lunch.

13) Block Party – Brenda Hammond

This is a coordinated event with Alice McGee of Church in the Woods. A mobile Bar-B-Que cooker would be needed. The basic project is to cook and serve a hotdog / hamburger meal for low income families in the 500 block of Bragg St., Raleigh.

14) Detention Center Guards Lunches – Jimmy Stevens

Lunches are delivered to the Detention Centers for the guards on duty for that day. Lunches will be prepared by a different group. This group will need to see that “Notes of Encouragement” are included with each lunch.

15) Meals on Wheels / Homebound – Missy Landers

Meals on Wheels generally does not deliver meals on Saturdays. The desire is to deliver lunches to the people who are on the Meals on Wheels list and to spend some time talking with the people the meal is delivered for. This group will need to see that “Notes of Encouragement” are included with each lunch.

16) Prayer Walkers – Donna Stevens

To organize a group of people to prayer walk in the areas where Operation InAsMuch will be conducting ministry. This would be done both on days prior to September 26th and on the day of the 26th as well.

17) Childcare – Lois McCoy

This group will provide the adult supervision for the children of the adults participating in the various OIAM projects. Childcare will only be provided until noon on that day.

18) City Violators Yard Cleanup – Leadership Undefined

After identifying yards or lots in our community that the city has cited as being violation we will gain permission from the owner and clean up these yards and/or lots.

19) Kid ID – Community Relations Committee, Heather Wray

Children will be documented with finger prints, a photo ID, and a DNA swab. 

20) Troop Care – Ken White

This project is to honor both fallen and active duty military and their families. One way to do this would be to provide a meal for the families. Where possible, partnering will be accomplished with American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. This project will also include letters of encouragement to active duty personnel in Iraq and Afghanistan.

21) Library – Jennifer Carpenter

To provide help with library’s in various institutions around our community

22) With Love From Jesus – Mary Powell / Nancy Daniels

This is an organization that offers food at a much reduced cost for low income and needy people. Various jobs around the center will be conducted to help this organization on that Saturday function.

23) Random Acts of Kindness – Brenda Evans / Tina Hutchins

This will be made up of a number of acts of kindness with an emphasis on “paying it forward.” Some of these acts will include:

·         Pay for a meal in the Drive Thru line of a fast food restaurant

·         Feed quarters into washing machines and dryers at an area Laundromat

·         Pay $X for a gas purchase at a local gas station

This project will also include Window Washing for Widows. 

24) Notes of Encouragement – Velvet Leggette

To write about 120 notes of encouragement to those who will be receiving lunches from the church (Fire, emergency, police and guards at the detention center).

25) Women’s Shelter Breakfast – Joanie Collier

A breakfast will be provided for the ladies at “The Healing Place” early on that Saturday morning. This group will spend time with the ladies during the meal.

26) Meal Preparation for Community Meals – Baptist Men / Terry Monroe
