Baptist Men

Who are we?
  • A mission driven group of men seeking to follow God’s call to service who want to make a difference in the lives of others as  well as themselves.
How do we do that?
  • Our Focus is on Missions

         Previous projects have centered around four fronts:

  • Disaster Relief - hurricane, tornado, and flood victims – wherever the need

  • Local & State Missions –

    • construction projects like wheelchair ramps, roof replacement, etc;

    • sponsorship of new church start ups (Quest Fellowship; Kingdom Harvest Church);

    • Construction work in Red Springs & Charlotte, NC for established missions, etc.

  • National Missions – one to two week trips to Tennessee, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, Kentucky

  • International Missions – Buckets of Hope for Haiti, drinking wells in Bihar India, Village sponsorship for medical & educational needs, evangelism in Brazil and the Ukraine.

         We have the following mission activities planned for 2011

  • February 4 - support our Student Ministry in their Boston Butt Roast Fund Raiser
  • February 19th - Westchester Apt Ministry

  • February 17th - Region 4 Mission rally - Hocutt B.C., Clayton, NC

  • March 18-19 - Disaster Relief Training in Cumberland County

  • March 19th - Westchester Apt Ministry

  • March 25 & 26 - Family Mission trip to Red Springs, NC with our Student Ministry 

  • April 1-2 - Missions Conference, Winston-Salem, NC

  • April 15-16 - Disaster Relief Training in Winston-Salem

  • April 16th - Westchester Apt Ministry

  • April 29 - Baptist Men's Dinner Theater (Fundraiser)

  • May 21st - Westchester Apt Ministry

  • June 4 – 11 - Kentucky / West Virginia mission trip.

  • September 30 - Baptist Men's Golf Tournament (Fundraiser)
  • October 27-30 - Baptist Men's Missions Awareness Retreat

  • December 3 - Baptist Men's Senior Adult Luncheon

 

         Other areas of involvement

  • Working with neighborhood partnership at Westchester Apartments in Garner

  • Supporting a local church start-up partnership with Kingdom Harvest Church

  • Appliance & furniture ministry - collecting material from various donors and then distributing to local families in need

  • Music ministry to various shut-ins and rest homes - we have a group that goes out every week to share their gift.

 

When & Where do we meet?
  • The 3rd Tuesday night of each month in the fellowship hall. We start with a meal from at 6:30 – 7:00, then have discussions about mission opportunities followed by a mission focused speaker.  We are usually finished by 8:00 pm

How do you get involved?
  • Contact the Associate Pastor- Adults, the church office, any Baptist Men's Officer,
     or just show up on the 3rd Tuesday night of the month!
