Lois McCoy received her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Virginia Tech, and her Master of Arts in Christian Education from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. While in seminary she received the Stealy Church History Award, and was the recipient of the Southern Baptist Religious Education Award for Outstanding Ministry Potential in the Field of Religious Education in 1992. She served as Minister of Childhood Education at Temple Baptist Church in Raleigh before coming to Aversboro Road Baptist Church in 1995. She also served three years as Bible Drill Coordinator/Youth Discipleship Specialist for the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina. Lois serves as a Preschool/Children’s Specialist for the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina and is the Sunday School Director for the Raleigh Baptist Association. Lois and Mac have been married for 29 years, and have two children, Bryan and Sarah, who are both students at North Carolina State University. In her spare time Lois enjoys various types of needlework and reading.
